ScanGo Privacy Policy

Cập nhật: 2026-05-19

Effective from: 19/05/2026 · Version: 2.0 Developer: Nexttech Smart Solutions Company Limited

ScanGo is a document scanning application. Scanning, OCR, and document storage all run on your device. The free version displays banner advertising provided by Google AdMob; the optional Lifetime Unlock purchase removes the advertising permanently. This policy describes how data is handled.

1. Principles

ScanGo is designed to keep your documents on your device. We do not require an account, do not collect personal information for our own use, and never upload your scanned images, OCR text, or document metadata to any server operated by us.

2. Data we process on-device

Captured images, OCR text, folder names, document titles, and timestamps are stored in the app's private storage (Android Internal Storage / iOS App Sandbox), isolated by the operating system from other apps. You retain full control to delete, export, or share this data. Nothing in this category leaves your device through ScanGo.

3. Permissions we request

  • Camera — to capture pages of a document.
  • Storage — to save exported PDFs/JPEGs to a folder you choose.

Other system permissions are not required and can be revoked at any time in your device's system settings.

4. Third-party services we integrate

ScanGo uses the following Google services. Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs their data handling.

  • Google ML Kit — on-device document edge detection and text recognition. No image or text is uploaded for recognition.
  • Google Play Billing — processes the optional Lifetime Unlock in-app purchase. Payment information is handled by Google Play, not by us.
  • Google Play In-App Review — shows the rating prompt when you trigger it from inside the app.
  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — displays banner advertising in the free version of the app. Banner ads are removed permanently after you purchase the Lifetime Unlock.
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics — collects anonymous crash diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS version, app version) to help us fix bugs. No document content is included.

5. Advertising — what AdMob collects and shares

When banner ads are displayed, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and processes the following data, governed by Google's privacy policy:

  • Advertising ID (AAID on Android, IDFA on iOS) — a resettable identifier you can reset or limit in your device's system settings.
  • Approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address.
  • Device information: model, OS version, language, screen size, time zone.
  • Ad-interaction events: ad impressions and clicks within ScanGo.

This data is used by Google and its ad partners for ad delivery, frequency capping, attribution, fraud prevention, and — where lawful — personalized advertising. ScanGo itself does not receive or store this data.

How to control it:

  • Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalisation".
  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising / Tracking.
  • Purchase the Lifetime Unlock to remove ads entirely; no Advertising ID is collected by ScanGo's ad SDK afterwards.

For users in the EEA / UK / Switzerland, a Google-provided consent form (UMP) will request your consent before personalized ads are shown.

6. Data shared with third parties

  • Anonymous crash diagnostics → Google (Firebase Crashlytics).
  • Advertising ID, approximate location, device info, ad events → Google (AdMob), only while the free version is in use.
  • Purchase tokens → Google (Play Billing), only when you initiate a purchase.

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with parties other than the ones listed above.

7. Your rights

Because document data resides on your device, you have full control to: delete individual documents inside the app, wipe all data by uninstalling the app, export documents through the system share sheet, and revoke permissions (camera, storage) at any time in system settings. For requests relating to advertising data held by Google, please use the controls listed in section 5 or contact Google directly via policies.google.com.

8. Children

ScanGo is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and you wish to discuss data handling, contact us at the address below.

9. Policy changes

This policy may be updated over time. Material changes (such as introducing new SDKs or new categories of data sharing) will be announced via app updates on Google Play, and a new version will replace the old one at the canonical URL.

10. Google Play Services & ML Kit compliance

ScanGo integrates Google ML Kit Document Scanner and Text Recognition to power edge detection and OCR directly on your device. All image and text processing happens locally — no document data is sent to Google through ML Kit. The integration complies with Google Play Policy, ML Kit Terms of Service, and the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

The use of raw or derived user data received from Google Play services and ML Kit will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
